“We will promote and support key projects such as data standardization and integration, and strengthening the capabilities of supplier companies in order to complete an intelligent autonomous manufacturing ecosystem based on standard data.”

Lee Sang-ho, Chairman of the Korea Autonomous Manufacturing Platform Association (KAMPA) and CEO of Impix, made this announcement at the launch ceremony held at the Seoul Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 25th.

KAMPA, an affiliate of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, was launched on the same day. Its goal is to establish a global standard-based data standardization system for autonomous manufacturing in small and medium-sized manufacturing industries, as well as to build an ecosystem for collaboration among related companies and institutions. To this end, it plans to promote field-centered, private-sector-led data standardization and application, as well as the strengthening of supplier capabilities.  

AI-based autonomous manufacturing is a future manufacturing system that combines robots and equipment with manufacturing processes based on AI to achieve advanced production. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has announced a strategy to support 5,000 autonomous factories by 2027 to promote the advancement of SME manufacturing systems.

The association consists of about 30 specialized companies, including Impix, MI Cube Solution, InterX, and ABH, with Impix serving as the chair company. Each company will play a different role in its area of expertise to contribute to the achievement of the association's goals.

Lee Sang-ho, president of the association, stated, “We will standardize the standard data format required for autonomous manufacturing centered on small and medium-sized manufacturing companies,” adding, “We have formed an autonomous manufacturing data-centric association to collaborate and support joint systems for data integration and system interconnection.”
